The Manaslu Circuit Trek is a challenging yet rewarding trek around the Manaslu region, offering breathtaking mountain views, rich cultural experiences, and diverse landscapes. The trek circles Mt. Manaslu, the eighth highest mountain in the world, and takes you through remote villages, lush forests, and over high mountain passes.
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, there will be a briefing about the trek and an opportunity to explore the vibrant streets of Thamel.
Today, you will explore the cultural and historical highlights of Kathmandu. Visits include UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Boudhanath Stupa, and Pashupatinath Temple. In the evening, there will be a final preparation and equipment check for the trek.
We embark on a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola, passing through rural villages, terraced fields, and along the winding roads above the Trishuli River. We spend the night in a teahouse in Soti Khola.
The trek starts with a trail that crosses bridges and climbs through beautiful Sal forests. We pass through the village of Lapubesi, descend to the wide, sandy riverbed, and follow a path that leads to Machha Khola.
The trail continues along the Budhi Gandaki River, crossing suspension bridges and passing through small villages like Khorla Besi and Tatopani. After crossing a landslide-prone area and the river, we reach the village of Jagat.
Today, we enter the Manaslu Conservation Area. The trail ascends through a subtropical forest to the village of Salleri and descends to Sirdibas. We continue to the Gurung village of Philim, then traverse terraced fields and cross the Budhi Gandaki to reach Deng.
We trek through forests and cross several bridges as we make our way to Namrung. The trail offers beautiful views of Siringi Himal and involves passing through villages like Ghap and Prok. Namrung is a great place to explore Tibetan culture.
We ascend through forests and pastures, enjoying views of Manaslu and other peaks. The trail passes through the villages of Lho and Shyala, offering panoramic mountain vistas. We reach the picturesque village of Samagaon, nestled at the base of Manaslu.
To aid acclimatization, we spend a day in Samagaon. Optional activities include a hike to Manaslu Base Camp or Pungyen Gompa, both offering stunning mountain views and a chance to explore local monasteries and culture.
The trail to Samdo is a gradual ascent, passing through yak pastures and mani walls. We enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding peaks and cross the Budhi Gandaki before reaching the Tibetan-influenced village of Samdo.
We continue our ascent, crossing rivers and traversing ridges as we head towards Dharamsala, also known as Larkya Phedi. This high-altitude settlement is our last stop before crossing the Larkya La Pass.
A challenging but rewarding day, we start early to cross the Larkya La Pass. The ascent provides stunning views of Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, and other peaks. After crossing the pass, we descend to the beautiful valley of Bimthang.
The trail descends through lush forests and pastures, passing through the village of Gho before reaching Tilije. We continue to see beautiful mountain views and diverse landscapes.
We descend further, joining the Annapurna Circuit trail. The path takes us through rhododendron forests and quaint villages, ultimately reaching Dharapani, a significant junction for trekkers.
We take a long drive from Dharapani to Besisahar and then back to Kathmandu. This scenic drive offers a chance to relax and reflect on the trek. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll be transferred to your hotel for a well-deserved rest.
After breakfast, you’ll have some free time for last-minute shopping or sightseeing before we transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward journey.
The best times are during spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) for favorable weather and clear views.
Prior trekking experience is beneficial but not mandatory. Good physical fitness and stamina are essential.
Yes, altitude sickness can be a concern. Acclimatization days and a gradual ascent are included to mitigate the risks.
